Playoff Rules

The top four teams -- three division champs and one wild card team -- compete for the League Championship. Division champs are the teams that win the divisions. The wild card team is the team with the best Breakdown record among the nine non-division winners. (Breakdown: What a team's record would have been if they played every team in the league every week of the season. Click Standings / Breakdown.) The wild card team may come from any division. The best division champ plays the wild card team, the other two play each other.

The 5th through 8th seeded teams compete in one consolation bracket, the 9th through 12th seeded teams compete in another consolation bracket. Seeds are determined via overall record first, then using the tie-breakers described below.

Tie-Breakers for Division Championship/Playoff Seeding

In the event that two or more teams have identical won-loss records at the conclusion of the season, and have played the same number of Head-to-Head games between them, the following tie-breaking system is employed:

1 - Overall record
2 - Head-to-head record
3 - Overall points
4 - Head-to-head points
5 - Division record

In the event that three or more teams have identical won-loss records at the conclusion of the season, and have played a different number of Head-to-Head games between them, Head-to-head records are not used and the following tie-breaking system is employed:

1 - Overall record
2 - Overall points
3 - Division record

Tie-Breaker for Playoff Games

In the event that two teams are tied at the conclusion of their playoff game, the higher seed wins the game.
